The Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 28th made it official. Hino of Hamilton is open for business at its beautiful new facility on 400 Brock Road in Dundas.
While it’s only across the parking lot from where it formerly resided the transition was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Hino of Hamilton founder Bill Grisdale and Hino Canada President Ms. Yumiko Kawamura.
“This was a great day for our family,” said Grisdale. “We are proud of the team we’ve built and the products we sell. I’m glad so many people joined us to celebrate.”

At the end of the day the door prizes were drawn, and here is who won!
$500 in pre-paid credit cards: Sohaib Rasool from ARI Fleet Management
Pair of Raptors tickets: Sheila Deyell from ARI Fleet Management
Beats wireless headphones: Sergio DeRose from Somerville Hino

The goal was to fill a Hino with non-perishable food items as part of Hino of Hamilton’s Grand Opening event. Food donations were collected throughout the month of October, but it wasn’t until the 28th – the day of the event – that the generosity of our friends, customers, vendors, and community truly showed.
After everything was tallied the Salvation Army Food Bank in Dundas was the recipient of $2,250 in cash donations and bags upon bags of donated food items.
“We’re honoured to help a worthy cause that’s close to our hearts,” said Hino of Hamilton Vice-President Adam Lockwood. “We were quite surprised by the generosity of our guests.”
While every donation helps the total was greatly supported by generous offerings from Hino Canada, Valorie Grisdale, and the Greensville Optimist Club.
The presentation of the donation took place at the Food Bank, and it was clear the efforts were greatly appreciated and needed. The Food Bank was a flurry of activity with people coming and going.
Shown in the pictures are Hino of Hamiton dealer principles Adam and Tammy Lockwood, Hino Canada Regional Sales Manager Nicholas Campbell, Salvation Army Area Director of Public Relations and Development Dan Millar, and Salvation Army Food Bank Dundas Director Shirley Molloy.
